ULI JON ROTH: East Coast Tour Recap
May 18, 2006Uli Jon Roth's (ex-SCORPIONS) production manager Jeff Agins has sent the following update to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding Roth's current U.S. tour and upcoming first-ever Sky Academy Seminar & Sky Music Festival, which is going to take place in Los Angeles, California on May 24-28:
"I just got back home for a couple of days before heading out again to the West Coast shows with Uli. Uli just finished the East Coast run on his U.S. tour. This is the first time that Uli has played in the U.S. in 21 years with a full band. He is back to playing rock and the audience every night responded favorably with long cheers after each song. His set list includes SCORPIONS classics like 'Polar Nights', 'Catch Your Train', 'Pictured Life' and and many more like 'We'll Burn The Sky' in which every night the audience would provide a chorus for singer Olaf Senkbeil (DREAMTIDE). Truly a special moment. Uli also played ELECTRIC SUN songs with his new band including 'The Night The Master Comes' and 'Firewind'. Ex-SCORPIONS bassist Francis Buchholz is Uli's bassist these days and the crowds were real receptive to Francis with cheers of 'Francis, Francis, Francis.'
"Uli is off to California for three shows before his long-awaited SKY ACADEMY. The SKY ACADEMY concerts, titled Uli Jon Roth and Friends, will be the highlight of the tour. Several new guests have been added to the roster including David Paich (TOTO),Kofi Baker (drummer extraordinaire and son of Ginger Baker) and original HEART guitarist Howard Leese. Some reserved seating still available to these shows."
